'Home From Home' brought together 50 dancers all aged over 50 in a creative collaboration with leading choreographers to celebrate the talent and creativity of older dancers. The pioneering project was a collaboration between DanceEast, Norwich Theatre and The Place, alongside their respective dance companies, EncoreEast, Cadenza, Damn Fine Dance and The Place Dancers, as the largest, most complex project EncoreEast has undertaken to date.
"In my beginning is my ending" was the brief for the music from director Luca Silvestrini. For a composer this is a wonderful gift, allowing experimentation with structure and form. Thus the end of the piece is the beginning in reverse. This idea was used to tie and weave all the disparate pieces of music together.
